A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam emails, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
You will be able to set up a catch-all email mailbox without any effort if you have a cloud hosting plan with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-rich, yet incredibly user-friendly, and it will permit you to activate various options, including the catch-all one, with no more than a couple of mouse clicks. All the mailboxes that you’ve set up will be enumerated alphabetically in this section and on the right-hand side of each one of them you’ll see a mini "Catch-all" sign. Clicking it once will activate this feature, clicking it again will disable it. As you can have just one such mailbox per domain, our system will warn you if you already have a different mailbox with this option enabled or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You will be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than one click if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with us and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the email addresses that you create with any domain name hosted in the account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to activate the feature will be to click that icon. In the very same way you will be able to disable the feature, if you do not need it anymore. Our system will warn you if you’re attempting to activate a 2nd catch-all mailbox for a certain domain or in case there’s active email forwarding, but it’ll never modify or disable any feature automatically and without your approval.
